Letter of Reference

This letter is to recommend Tim Fornero: with full vigor and enthusiasm. He has been my assistant/property manager since October 2016. Westport, CT and NYC.

He has improved my day to day living and has created more time for me.   Exactly what I needed, after the previous employee. A different world. I've said out loud more then once,”He doesn't miss anything.”

I first met Tim in my New York City apartment, early, before work on a nights  notice. I needed, not only a stronger candidate but one who could handle multi-tasking; starting by moving both of my personal properties. 
Tim seemed confident in that interview that it would not be a problem. It was not.  He packed and completed the first move with little input from me. In fact, when there was a problem with one of my antiques, he was there and documented it with photos. He followed up to realize  a twenty percent discount from the movers.  The second move, in Connecticut, was ongoing and equally successful.  Moves from the NYC apartment, storage units, ex-wife's property, new furniture and my office. It came together very nicely.   I also replaced the cedar roof on the CT home. The new roof came in on time and under budget.

Tim is a skilled hospitality professional. He is a self-starter who is able to anticipate my needs and those of my guests.  There was no training for this position.  His personality and attitude are good willed and polished. He continues to improve and often surprises me with attention to detail. Recently he purchased a hand steamer for the cotton sheets. Saving on dry cleaning.  He's done the same with my cars. In house cleaning instead of more expensive options. 

He has been an excellent caretaker of my dog: Gracie. Which is Most important.  Tim also notice when my cat was sick. She needed extensive care, that Tim coordinated and provided.  No job has proved to be too small and equally, he has continually handle contracts with vendors.  In addition to the previously stated: patio upgrade, faster wifi , wifi enable pool equipment, HVAC, generator, and outside stereo to name a few recent projects. He has handled many repairs on his own with out using vendors. 

He's also does a professional job with my wardrobe.  Tim has treated my X-wife very well and done more then asked to help her. 

Lastly Tim is a trained and talented chef. He was not hired for this purpose. He cooks as requested. I have used this  skill for personal as well as professional gatherings. His shrimp bisque for example is as good as I have ever had and the  shrimp cocktail (my staple) are the finest and my favorite.

To Whom It May Concern: June 3, 2015 

I am writing this letter of reference on behalf of Tim Fornero. It has our been our pleasure to have him working in our home as a personal chef from October 2014 to present. We will be away for the summer or he would still be with us now.

Having had people in my home working I would first like to address just how pleasant Tim is to have around. His easy going personality, wonderful sense of humor, and refusal to get ruffled even in the face of a very energetic, busy home is outstanding. He remains calm and good tempered through it all.

He has developed a personal and meaningful relationship with each of my three children (13, 14, and 17). Each has different dietary needs and wishes. For instance, my youngest son watches his weight, having a tendency to gain easily. Tim has worked with him rigorously on calories and helping him to choose a variety of good foods, always with a positive and non judgmental attitude. In contrast, my older son is trying to bulk up for football. Tim has helped him to put on weight in a healthy way. He continues to try to educate the kids on eating and nutrition. In fact, he bought a blender and tries anything to get veggies into the kids. 

As far as his cooking is concerned, he is amazing. His food is consistently fresh, nutritious and delicious. He can prepare meals within meals (and almost always does), leaving sauce on or off...salads with or without ingredients as requested etc...His knowledge of cooking is deep and varied. He can cooks from a wide range of food categories. In addition, he is not afraid to say if he happens not to know something and is always eager and ready to try something new. The result is always a wonderful surprise!

His presentation of the food is great...always mindful of making it look good as well as tasting terrific. This often helps is getting us to try new things. A real specialty for Tim is soup. His soups are delicious and healthy and he produces them with what seems like little effort. In addition to being all of this,

Tim has not missed a day of work! He is responsive and timely. He takes the initiative. If he sees something in the house that needs doing, he politely inquires about it and then when given permission takes care of it! One day I came home to find that the back door screen was fixed! Again, this works in my house because there is always so much to do. But I want to stress that he is respectful and would never do things without exploring the ideas first. However, he is quite handy and has done many things in the house over the year. 

Overall, I would recommend Tim without hesitation! He is an outstanding chef, and a fun and wonderful addition to any family! Please feel free to contact me with any questions!

Tim Fornero: To a vendor of specialty foods like my-self, Tim Fornero was the ideal customer – a hard-working owner/chef who knew exactly what he wanted and knew what the right price was.

It is no wonder that Tim always ran successful food operations. He demanded the best products and services, and he got them at the best price. Customers like that are few and far between.

We were happy to go the extra mile for Tim – to source special request items or to make out of the way deliveries. We had to work extra hard to earn his business – and to keep it for the fifteen years that we were proud to call him our customer. And whenever we made a mistake,

Tim could be counted on to catch it and to let us know–even if it was in his favor. So, I and my staff - customer service as well as drivers - always did and always will appreciate Tim for his honesty, integrity, product knowledge, and business acumen. We knew that if we were making Tim happy, then we were doing a good job.

Letter of Reference for Tim Fornero

Tim Forrero has asked me for a letter of reference. I write on his behalf with pleasure and without hesitation.

I first met Tim more than twenty five years ago when he was a high school student. I was the Dean and a teacher/coach at the Wooster School in Danbury, Connecticut. Tim was the manager of my varsity basketball team and lived in my dormitory.

During his senior year he was chosen to be Headwaiter, the second most important senior leadership position in the school, and ran the kitchen and dining room operations.

Tim is not afraid of hard work and he loves food. These are excellent qualities in a chef and in his professional career, both have served him well. His expertise is reflected in the various restaurant positions he has worked at in the past two decades. He knows a kitchen inside and out. However,

Tim is more than just a fine chef. He has great personal integrity and is a thoughtful, caring person. Tim is highly loyal, but at the same time able to speak his mind in an appropriate manner when he disagrees with something.
